national treasure. . .

is on the agenda for tonight. a little cinema to keep austin and i’s spirits up.

my nelly cd came in the mail today. from argentina. *grin* i picked it up simply for this song. found out it has several decent songs on it, though.

have been cleaning and working on school stuff, bills and whatnots. thank you notes are on my list for tomorrow. santa was very nice to me, like i said, so there are numerous notes to be sent in appreciation.

i cannot believe that it is almost 2005. i really do not know where the time goes.

have finished a couple more books and have picked out a couple more to start in the next day or so. it is nice to have so much time to be able and read until my eyes pop out in exhaustion.

have also been catching up on the new music that is out there. again, too much time on the computer, but it makes me happy.

a bit stressed out for my upcoming microeconomics class. economics has never been my forte. i foresee many hours of crying into my textbook in frustration.

i promise my entries will be more exciting in the future. pfui.

quiet sunday

i have not done much besides clean and putter around the house aimlessly.

i did laundry, washed dishes, eyed the nordic track with fear, ate a fruit cup, drank too much coffee (my stomach is now on strike), cleaned the fish tank (my fish WAS on strike but the negotiations have taken a positive turn), filled out the logbook for work, took down the christmas lights and decorations (all but the tree), wrapped presents, swept the kitchen and tried to decide if i was going to start a new book or finish one of the ones i have started.

santa was very good to me this year. it appears as if my christmas will continue into the next week as we have a gift exchange with “the family” tonight and several of my family members mentioned that they had sent me packages. *grin* i do not deserve it, but they must not have gotten the “allison has been very naughty this year” memo.

mart and i spent christmas eve deciding on details for the house, for us (mainly the division of stuff and tenatively the divorce timeline) and for the dogs (i am just taking tiny and kaya, he does not want to give up either of the other dogs). had to do some paperwork and work on some bills on christmas, yucky. we exchanged gifts, he bought me some beautiful new earrings and i had his ring engraved (plus he had mine done, something we had intended to do years ago, but just got around to doing after we decided to split, figures, eh?).

working on my calendar for next semester. thought i had it all set, but bummer of bummers i have to add another class. 21 hours. blah. well, it is a good thing i did not plan on having a life this semester anyway (outside of “the family” that is…sounds a bit like a cult, does it not?).

looking forward to gettting the rest of my textbooks so i can start to get ahead on reading and assignments.

starting to get everything sorted for the huge garage sale i plan to have in may. i have this urge to just get rid of all the “stuff”. my books, computer stuff and clothes are the only things off-limits. touch them and die, you garage sale hordes.

planning on a new tattoo soon. that certain feeling (probably withdrawals, like a heroin junkie) has been sweeping over me, so it is time to get my fix. at least i have always known what i wanted and where i wanted my tattoos, so i have never had any regrets in that department. still have to get the sun on my belly colored in, but am still avoiding it due to the whole ‘hating to have someone touch my bellybutton’ obsession i have. i do not know how i even managed to get the outline done in the first place.

have a to-do list a mile long. pfft.

i shall leave you with this song

ginger snaps or death?

merry christmas

christmas gives me an odd feeling this year. this will be the first christmas that i am not around family of any kind. to austin’s house for dinner and then home to the puppies.

thought i was going to have to move out of the house this weekend. practically did. made the decision to take back my life. have lost it the past few years. i do not regret getting married, i just regret losing so much of myself in the process. live and learn. pfft.

went with “the family” tonight to go and pick up april’s new puppy, ivy kristine. tiniest thing you have ever seen. had a flat on the way, but jamme stepped up and took care of it while the rest of us sat back and had a few giggles. jamme earns the gold star of the year for that.

spoke with the family in colorado tonight. they passed around the phone to various people at my grandmother’s house and we chatted until my cell phone died. i am so sick of my cell phone battery. blah blah blah. i know. quit whining, right?

now that i have reclaimed my house i am off to take a long, hot bath. i have taken my vitamins, drank my water, walked the dogs (yay, punkin and domino are both home for a couple of days!), folded laundry, eyed the pile of dishes next to the sink (they scared me so i turned away and ran off without so much as cleaning a single glass), read a chapter in the textbook i have for next semester and have now blogged. i feel that i deserve to soak and have a good read for the next hour or so.

i have started my new year resolutions early, but have a few more that i am thinking about adding. anyone want to offer up suggestions? before you even start, let me add that “getting rid of the chicken joke” is high on my list of possibilites. but only if i get one just as corny to replace it.

i am off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of id. . .

merry christmas, mes amies et lecteurs.

i wish you all much joy and happiness.

cake. that is all. just cake.

introducing the smallest puppy i have ever seen, ivy kristine. not an addition to my household, but to april’s ark.

flat tires did not phase us. well, not the girls anyway. the boys on the other hand were popsicles by the time the tire got changed.

one heck of a morning. . .

i have to take a nap sometime today. it is becoming more of a need than a want at this point.

was up late last night catching up with family.

was up late late last night speaking on the phone after the family went to sleep.

was up late late late last night catching up on email, bills, school things and checking to see if my sanity was intact.

up at 7:15am with the family. they had a 12-hour-drive ahead of them and wanted an early start. then rushing off to get the timecard in by 9am after picking up austin, missed that deadline by a few minutes *grr*. headed to austin’s bank and then my bank.

tangent: banks are fun. really. pfui. had to close down my checking account for reasons i will not go into here. had to reopen a brand-new one which involved SO MUCH paperwork. had to order new checks, a new debit card. blah. finally got bank accounts situated so that mine are mine and mart’s are marty’s and ne’r the twain shall meet. getting my online banking going involved another ton of paperwork as i had always just used marty’s information and never had my own setup.

it is amazing how much you have to do sometimes.

then off home after dropping off austin back home. have been spending several hours doing cleanup on my computer and assorted internet accounts, etc.

oh, in case you were wondering, i was hit by a spam bot or something. any ads you see in the comment section of this blog were not placed there by me. i do not endorse online gambling or anything else that they may be advertising.

special thanks to my webmaster Hunter for cleaning up my blog and not kicking my blog off his server after the spam bandits hit a couple of nights ago. just goes to show that if you get a call at one in the morning, pick it up as it may be a blog-related emergency. *grin*

today:
movie this afternoon (still not sure which one, but leaning toward spanglish)

drinks and maybe a pool game (which i may or may not win, *grr* to my inconsistent pool-playing habits) with a friend who is in town visiting family for christmas

working on christmas gifts tonight! i am SO far behind.

tomorrow:
sleep

work on christmas gifts

midnight mass with the usual crowd (my usual crowd, not the church’s. . .well, and with them too. . .*sigh* you know what i mean)

christmas:
christmas dinner with part of the group

pretty much blowing off having a last christmas with the other half. decided to start doing what I want to do and not what other people expect me to do.

i found out that i have the weekend off, instead of just a day. now i get to twiddle my thumbs and catch up on that long list of “to do’s”. why am i not more excited about this?

my mind is definitely elsewhere these days. good or bad? *shrug*

feta frittata or death?
