i really hate…

kleenex with lotion.

i really, really do.

if i believed in capital letters, i would actually put one of those “really”s in capital letters.

that is how much i hate kleenex with lotion.

or facial tissue. whatever you feel like calling it.

tonight…

i was walking the dogs and looked up into a dark sky, the sliver of moon barely lighting the incredibly muggy night…

i saw the big dipper peeking from around scattered, low-lying clouds.

life is good.

i had a really, long funny entry…

but then it died.

damn.

quick notes:

6:30am
no coffee
rude northwest airline employee
took care of her
no coffee
on the plane to atlanta
three ounces of coffee (are you fucking kidding me? really?)
off the plane in atlanta
triple espresso
on the plane to tallahassee
sitting next to carrie who had a cranky baby
then he ate
then he fell asleep
then we talked the entire rest of the flight
carrie and i, not the baby and i
landed in tallahassee
uncle charles took me home after giving me a big hug
he then made me a sandwich and cut up a whole bunch of watermelon (locally grown!)
i ate a lot of watermelon
found out watermelon is a diuretic (thanks, uncle charles)
peed a lot (more than usual…*sigh*)
suprised my mom & aunt donna
met the satan dogs and cute cat
seattle, tally, sophie, pete & bear, respectively
ate meatloaf, yellow squash with onions, fresh cherry tomatoes, boiled baby red potatoes
&
banana pudding vanilla wafer yumminess
hung out with the fam
received a giant box of books, a christmas stocking & a sunflower paperweight
now hanging out with the cat

aunt candace would be a great spy. she is the one who engineered all the espionage…

life is good.

sometimes…

when you are up late at night and you just cannot stop thinking about life, the universe and everything (miss you, DNA!)…well, sometimes you find yourself at stumbleupon

and sometimes you find sites like this: the last picture i ever took.

or this:

Dead Sodas

& then you back away slowly, turn off the infomercial that has been droning away in the background, check under the bed for monsters, and slide away into dreamland…comfortable in the knowledge that no matter how bad your life is at that moment, you can always find a website that is having a worse moment.

(okay, i actually must admit that these two sites i found on stumbleupon are pretty darn funny…)

thanks to col for showing me the wonders of stumbleupon, and even getting the little ole’ stagger on its list.

silver wings…

sometimes when i am having a bad day/week/month/year…you get the picture…i hear “silver wings” by merle haggard run through my mind and everything seems…well, if not better, then at least bearable for a moment.

milestones…

so my cousin’s daughter graduated from preschool yesterday. i was not aware they had those things. of course, i am better schooled in types of wine grapes than i am in children’s milestones; although that has changed quite a bit in the past few years. the whole point being that i now know about preschool graduation.

as you can see, she looks thrilled:

as do they all:

my own personal milestone is that i dropped 3.2 lbs.

previous weigh-in: 175.2 lbs
yesterday’s weigh-in: 172 lbs
lost: 3.2 lbs
10% goal: 17 lbs
full goal: 35.2 lbs
final goal weight: 140

just in case you are curious ~ yes, yes i am thinking about making an excel spreadsheet to track my progress.

because i am a geek & i can.

special thanks to lupine who somehow got me stumbled upon at stumbleupon.com & introduced a whole new segment of the population to the stagger inn. drinks for everyone…milk for the preschool grads.
